Father’s Day weekend is like no other at Willow Creek Community Church: DadFest—Willow Creek’s annual celebration of all things father—is a conglomeration of men-focused teaching, family friendly fun, cool cars, live rock ‘n roll and free food.
Willow Creek’s weekend services kicked off with a dad-targeted message from Super Bowl champ Mike Singletary, former linebacker with the Chicago Bears and current head coach of the
DadFest also featured free hot dogs, popcorn, and ice cream—a perfect Father's Day feast—as well as live 50s and 60s music from The Ambassadors (Saturday) and Denny Diamond (Sunday). Also on Saturday, world champion Elvis impersonator Shawn Klush made an appearance. Get a glimpse of Shawn in action.
DadFest is sponsored by Willow Creek’s C.A.R.S. Ministry, a team of dedicated staff and volunteers who recondition cars to give to single moms and others who have real transportation needs. Last year, C.A.R.S. gave away 95 vehicles and provided more than 200 benevolent car repairs. “If you have a vehicle to donate, or are interested in volunteering your mechanical skills to help repair cars, get in touch with us,” says C.A.R.S. Ministry directory Warren Young.
