On Sunday, June 26, Willow Creek Community Church celebrated 30 years of outdoor Baptisms as 629 individuals made public their faith in Christ while friends, family, and thousands of Willow Creek attenders looked on.
Monthly Baptism services occur throughout the year inside the church, but every June, the lakeside Baptism in front of the church becomes a high-watermark event. In the past years, Willow has baptized more than 14,000 people.
At 1:45 p.m. those who call Willow Creek their home church gathered at the lake, spread out blankets, enjoyed picnic lunches, and celebrated with those who will step into the water.
Willow Creek Community Church, now in its 36th year, is an interdenominational church with weekly attendance of more than 24,000. The central campus is located at the SE corner of Algonquin and Barrington Roads in South Barrington, Illinois.
